I am surprised that the PML and Three Mile signs still exist in a readable from. I have pictures of them from the the early 1980s when they were exhibiting heavy entropic devolution (I have linked from my old picture archive to your photos with proper attribution). Thanks for another great post.EMWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17167561754053134166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9104407556476191365.post-23787919976971674222011-06-24T19:17:27.811-07:002011-06-24T19:17:27.811-07:00Oh, by the way; I mean to ask you to add my blog t...Oh, by the way; I mean to ask you to add my blog to your blog list. Check out my site: www.calihike.blogspot.com
I'm hiking for 1000 consecutive days and my favorite spot in the universe is the Sespe. Problem is, I don't have the chance to do too many overnights.

I could talk forever about how sweet your pictures are; Indian Caves and the Squeezes... I'm going to be duplicating many of your accomplishments but before I do, I'll take another peak at your blog. Keep up the good work and I will respond next week to the most remote spot in the Southern Los Padres. Hmmm....Jeremy Jacobushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16817808698637315693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9104407556476191365.post-65690947399076337272011-06-22T23:07:42.807-07:002011-06-22T23:07:42.807-07:00The ice can stove at Pine Mountain Lodge is at the...The ice can stove at Pine Mountain Lodge is at the second camp, which is somewhat south and west of the camp you mention and just down the crick a wee bit. Rather than turn eastward to descend to Twin Forks you turn westward for about a hundred yards. I personally think it is the better of the two camps. Somewhat due south of the second camp, atop the ridge and overlooking the Sespe and Piedra Blanca trailhead far below, there is what I believe is a bedrock mortar. It is in a spot that has a spectacular view! I have noticed in numerous different areas far apart on Pine Mountain many depressions that I think are mortars. But they are all highly eroded compared to all the other mortars I have seen around the Tri-County area and so it is hard to tell for sure. But I never see other rocks in these areas with similar concavities, as if it is a natural occurrence in the stone, so I presume they are mortars. I've had some photos in the queue for awhile now I'll have to post.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9104407556476191365.post-3651324730680518082011-06-20T17:44:23.034-07:002011-06-20T17:44:23.034-07:00Awesome writeup with great pics as well - thanks f...Awesome writeup with great pics as well - thanks for posting!DJ DaDohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13150127806861578493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9104407556476191365.post-46893600767831317002011-06-18T12:40:31.156-07:002011-06-18T12:40:31.156-07:00Great writeup for an amazing hike! It was pretty amazing - we saw the ladybug orgies, but it was so cold that they were moving in slow motion and burrowed into the bark of trees. We went through some pretty heavy snow, and in parts we had some heavy snow flurries. No camping, we pulled through the whole hike in about 12 hours, and the last hour was in the dark. Thank goodness for our headlamps. After the 2600' drop, I finally learned how amazing NSAIDS are! Planning our first hike to Alder Creek this Monday!Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17249019479913364320noreply@blogger.com
